"The Real Meaning Of The Rainbow"

Genesis 9 details the true meaning of God's rainbow.  This God-given token of the covenant between God and all of His creation has been hi-jacked and is being portrayed as a symbol of perversion and rebellion that God has clearly declared an abomination against Him. It is no accident that the Rainbow was chosen as the symbol for human sexual perversion. Misrepresenting this beautiful token of the covenant between God and His creation is another satanic ploy to counterfeit and twist that which God has created. Satan cannot create anything, so he takes what God has created and perverts it.

We have an entire generation coming up who believe that the Rainbow actually stands for the LGBTQ community. Christians have been too quiet on this issue. It is past time for Christians to speak up and proclaim the true meaning of the Rainbow. Christians have been all together too quiet on the issue of homosexuality. For the sake of not offending anyone, far too many Christians have chosen to either stay silent with regard to God's clear declaration in this matter or, worse yet, go along with the deception by pretending that it is a perfectly acceptable, normal lifestyle choice. In Leviticus 18:22, God clearly states that homosexuality is an abomination against Him. The fact that this verse is sandwiched directly in between verses speaking against child sacrifice and against beastiality should provide additional clarity as to the level of offense such a lifestyle truly is in the eyes and judgment of our Creator. God has not changed His mind about this matter, regardless of how much our current society tries to pretend He has. 

As Christians, we are to speak the truth in love. We are to hate the sin, not the sinner. Under no circumstance, however, are we to confuse being loving toward others with affirming sinful choices that will ultimately lead someone to an eternity separated from God. We cannot pretend that homosexuality is perfectly fine. Furthermore, we cannot let our silence convey acceptance of such behavior. We have a responsibility to speak the truth in the face of lies. While we need not be unnecessarily harsh in our approach, we are absolutely not to sugarcoat the facts and tiptoe around the truth. Jesus did not soft-pedal the gospel, and neither should we.

Make no mistake about it, Satan is the force behind the LGBTQ agenda. The familiar claim of being "born this way" is essentially true. We are ALL born with a sin nature, each with a proclivity toward one particular sin or another. However, we are not to embrace that sin or our sin nature! An alcoholic can claim he was "born this way" but that does not make it acceptable for him to drive drunk. A serial killer may claim that he was "born this way" but that does not make it acceptable for him to go around killing people.

With the clear exception of Jesus, every person born into this world from the time Satan deceived Eve in the Garden of Eden, has been born with a sin nature. Every one of us have an ongoing battle with our own sin nature, from the day we are born until the day we leave this world. Sin separates us from God. That is why God provided His perfect Son, Jesus. The only way to deal with the sin in our lives is through acceptance of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. 

Not everyone recognizes his or her own need for the Savior. Many are simply not interested, preferring instead to revel in their rebellion. God gave each one of us the free will and the responsibility to choose for ourselves. As Believers, our goal is not to go along to get along or to affirm someone else in their sinful choices. Our goal is to present the gospel to the people God places in our paths and speak the truth to them as clearly as God has written it to us.
